Flies around windows

Has this happened to anyone else?

So...we never ever get flies in our house. We just don't.

I had in my possession in my house the book the Amityville Horror...I don't know if you've seen the movie or read the book, but there's a part in the story where in one room of the house, there is a huge infestation of flies around a window....
well, get this.
during the period of me reading this book and it being in my household, we had about 10 flies or more constantly at our kitchen windows, just the kitchen windows!
We'd vacuum them up and literally seconds later they'd come back.
We never did find out where the hell they were coming from, no windows were open or anything.

My mother said get RID of that book immediately, so I did, and the flies stopped coming.

the womans name in the story is Cathy and my moms name is Kathy.

Yeah, the Amityville Horror wasn't real. The same exact thing would happen to my Dad's house when he was growing up. He would never have flies in his house and then randomly, they'd be swarming around a certain window. He looked into it when he was older and it turns out it has something to do with the weather, he explained it to me when I was younger but I don't really remember. Sorry, that wasn't as helpful as I thought it would be.

ah, no it was informative! thank you!

but also that was the only time we've ever gotten flies like that, we have a ton of rooms and windows in this house, so it was just odd

yeah it wasn't real but that would freak me the fuck out. i KNEW the book wasn't real but i made the mistake of trying to read it before bed.. yeah i was up all night to finish it because i wanted to know if they got away from it in the end... im a dork lol

that happens at my moms house, but on the outside of the window. BUT she lives in the country and the fertilizer is chicken manure so that's that explanation lol.

Reminds me of a house my mother lived in. In the attic near a window there was thousands of flies. All almost dead, on the floor, making a inch-thick carpet of half-moving flies. Days later, they were all dead.

Shows that there was a dead rat in the other end of the attic and the flies had been attracted to the light of the window, since it was the only window there. There just have to be a few flies and something dead for them to multiply and really fascinating rates.

I have the same problem in my house, the 2 kitchen windows and one in the living room sometimes just get full of flies, even if it's 20 below. Can't figure it out, but I wouldn't chalk it up to the paranormal.

I dont really think that this is paranormal, sorry:P
But maybe whenever someone in the house would open a door or window or whatever for a long period of time, sometimes a small fly can fly into the house, maybe fluttering about for a little bit, then as soon as it decides to leave, it goes to the window, but realizing that there is no escape, it lays its gross eggs and dies. I guess it happens with everyone:P
